Road safety on Castle Vale - massive response to residents' survey

Cllr Ann Holtom has received a huge number of responses to the survey she organised on road safety issues among residents of Castle Vale. Concerned residents highlighted a number of safety issues that they say requires urgent attention.
Among the survey's findings was that 97% of respondents believe cars travel too fast on local roads.
Specific recommendations from local people include:
- a zebra crossing on Tangmere Drive
- Reduction in speed limits
- Speed warning signs
- 20 mph zones for schools
To take these issues forward Cllr Holtom has received a commitment from the Cabinet Member for Transportation for the Council to carry out a widespread road safety check on Castle Vale's roads and bring forward detailed plans to calm traffic and make local roads safer for everyone.
