Road safety concerns on Tyburn Road are being taken up again by local councillor Ann Holtom

Following the accident at the junction of Tyburn Road and Hawkesyard Road on Saturday 7 August in which a pregnant mother of two lost her life and two children were injured, local Liberal Democrat councillor Ann Holtom has contacted the Cabinet member for traffic on Birmingham City Council to call for an investigation into road safety conditions in the area.

Cllr Holtom has called the death of Susan Brueton from Weoley Castle, a terrible tragedy and wishes to express her sympathies to the family.

Cllr Holtom said: "This tragic accident has highlighted the dangers on this stretch of Tyburn Road and this is not the first crash in the area over the recent past. It is not clear what happened, except that the car spun and hit a lamp-post but it is important for residents to know that the authorities are carrying out a proper investigation and I will be asking for consideration to be given to ways of improving road safety in the area."
