Robert Hardware wishes to thank everyone who supported his campaign in New Hall.
Robert Hardware, Liberal Democrat candidate in the Sutton New Hall by-election, wishes to thank all those who supported him in the election on Thursday.
Robert increased the Lib Dem share of the overall vote by 3 percentage points in an election which saw the Conservative vote drop by 9%.
The full result was:
Conservative - 1633
Robert Hardware, Liberal Democrat - 319
Labour - 505
UKIP - 344
Robert said: "Sutton New Hall has been a very safe Conservative seat for a long time. I am pleased to have increased the Lib Dem share of the poll and I wish to thank all those residents who worked for me or voted for me. I also want to thank all those residents who took the time to fill in and return our local survey. I will be following up on all the responses where people have given contact details."
