It matters what you think. The Lib Dems want to make it easier to get residents' voices heard.

Liberal Democrats in Sutton Coldfield and Erdington have been campaigning to make it easier for local residents to tell Birmingham City Council what they would like to see improved in their areas. Now Robert Hardware, Lib Dem candidate in the Sutton New Hall by-election, has joined the call to make things easier for residents to participate in the regular meetings that are held at ward and constituency level.

Robert said: "Birmingham Council run meetings in New Hall ward where local people can have their say. Like other Liberal Democrats in the area however I am concerned that not enough residents know about the meetings or find they are held at times when it is difficult to attend. I want to see the meetings better advertised and held at times which suit residents. "

RobertRobert is supporting Lib Dem councillor Ann Holtom who has begun to survey residents in Erdington on what they think about the local meetings and how they want the system improved to help them get their voices heard more effectively. Robert is planning to do a comprehensive survey of New Hall residents' ideas and concerns about their area during the election campaign and this will give residents the chance to voice their views on the way these important consultation meetings take place.
