Cllr Ann Holtom, campaigning for a safer crossing on Tyburn Road

Children, parents and teachers from Gunter Primary School are calling on the City Council to make a pedestrian crossing on Tyburn Road safer before a serious accident occurs.

They have asked their local Liberal Democrat Councillor, Ann Holtom, to present their petition to the Council which calls for urgent action to prevent an accident on the busy Tyburn Road.

In a statement, Cllr Holtom said: "The parents, children and teachers are calling for warning lights on the approach to the crossing, additional warning signs and coloured non slip tarmac on the approach to the crossing."

"I believe that these concerns are totally justified and fully support the parents' campaign."

"I hope that the council will respond positively and make the crossing safer for the children and others who use this busy crossing."

Crossing"I want to see accidents prevented and not action taken after a serious or fatal accident."
