Lib Dems celebrating an earlier election victory
The Liberal Democrats in Oswestry in Shropshire, one of the counties of the West Midlands region, are celebrating a well-deserved win in the borough's Castle Ward. On Thursday 2 October, Liberal Democrat candidate Romer Hoseason took the seat from the Tories with a majority of 59 votes. In the week their party held its national conference in the heart of the West Midlands, the Conservatives saw their share of the vote fall by 27.5%.
Mr Hoseason, who is 54 years old, has lived in Oswestry since 1982. He has served on the Town council for 6 years and has been very active with a number of voluntary and church bodies in the town.
