A big thank you to local residents from Cllr Ann Holtom - re-elected in Tyburn Ward
The result of the 1 May council election in Tyburn Ward was a triumph for local Liberal Democrat councillor Ann Holtom. Ann was re-elected with a majority of more than 500 votes over Labour candidate Des Hughes in second place. The Tory, Derek Johnson, came third - despite extravagant claims during the campaign that only the Conservatives could beat Labour and that Ann was out of the race.
The full result was:
Tamar Bolger (Green) - 121
Ann Holtom (Lib Dem) - 1652
Des Hughes (Labour) - 1144
Derek Johnson (Conservative) - 1125
Ben Lumby (BNP) - 395
Sally Ann Rose (Independent) - 129
Majority - 508
Throughout this campaign Ann Holtom has consistently said that only the Liberal Democrats could beat Labour in Tyburn Ward. This has been confirmed by the result.
A big thank you to all Tyburn residents who voted for Ann. Cllr Holtom pledges to continue to be a strong voice for Tyburn Ward on the City Council and on behalf of all the residents of the ward.
