April 3, 2008 7:48 PM

Cllr Ann Holtom - a strong voice for Tyburn WardThe Liberal Democrat candidates for the local government wards in Erdington and Sutton Coldfield, led by Tyburn councillor Ann Holtom, have today endorsed the party's manifesto for the council elections on 1 May.

Under the title Cleaner, Greener and Safer the manifesto provides a comprehensive policy agenda for the administration of the council for the two years until the next round of local elections in the city in 2010.

The Liberal Democrats vision for Birmingham as set out in the document is where:

There is a high quality, clean and attractive local environment and the City contributes towards global sustainability and businesses prosper.

Everyone can feel safe in their homes, streets and neighbourhoods.

The City Council as the democratic body representing the City, takes the lead in working with local people and organisations for a better Birmingham.

People feel proud to live here.

These things can only be achieved by the Council working in partnership with local people and organisations. But they all require a well run, efficient Council that provides value for money.
