The proposed new railway station at Castle Vale is one step closer. So says Tyburn's Lib Dem Councillor Ann Holtom.
Ann has been involved in negotiations with Centro and the West Midlands
Passenger Transport Executive to look at the feasibility of bringing a
railway station to Castle Vale.
Ann said "I am very pleased with the way this project is progressing. Both
Centro and WMPTE are very positive about the proposal. The need has been
established and the logistics make it viable."
In a letter to Cllr Ann Holtom, Chair of WMPTE Garry Clarke stated the development is "Clearly on the Cards" Ann Holtom went on "I am very pleased that my campaign for a station has the support of the City Council, CENTRO & the Passenger Transport Executive.
A station will reduce journey times into the city centre and provide
increased access to employment opportunities. Rest assured that I will keep
the pressure on until a station on the Vale becomes
a reality."
